Sacco Pizza in New York City

Good, old-school pizza joint in Hell's Kitchen that's been around for +50 years. Sacco's pies and slices are fresh, service is prompt and correct. The crust is deliciously flavourful, thin, with tender and slightly puffy edges, depending on how the pizza-maker forms the base. I've been here a couple of times, and quality is consistent. A plain slice with added broccoli & mushrooms is $4.50. Uses canned mushrooms, if that matters. All in all, yum.

Amazing NY style pizza for a very good price! The place is very simple, but the pizza is exactly what you expect when you think of a NY style pizza.

Best tomato sauce in town. Chicken parmesan hero is my favorite around the city. Make sure you're hungry if ordering a hero.

My family of 4 and I were googling pizzarias with lots of stars for our trip to Manhattan. We love visiting New York City and just wanted to find a different place. We stumbled upon this pizzeria and let me just tell you... it was great! Very little hole in the wall with excellent service, extremely tasty pizza, and super service! Highly recommended and we will definitely come back!

Best Pizza in New York. Everything about this pizza is amazing! I would super recommend this place to anyone. The people working there are so nice and always the same gives it a very authentic feel.

I truthfully can say that the service is impressive and the food is delicious. I tried Margherita pizza and it was delightful.

So tasty! And although there was a huge line of people waiting to be served, we got a seat and were served fairly quickly.Cleanliness wasn't the best, but what can you expect from a fast food place with limited space and such a large crowd of visitors?

Sacco Pizza is primarily a take away joint but it has some tables out the back. It has a nondescript frontage but the pizza are anything but. Awesome would be the best word. Choose your own toppings and dive in (please note that they have no alcohol for sale on the premises)

The holy grail of N.Y. style pizza. I don’t know how they do it, but they have mastered the perfect slice. I wish they’d franchise, because this place would be a gold mine anywhere, especially places like Atlanta, where finding a half way decent pizza is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Great pie!

Can't dine in , but they have cute little benches outside to sit and enjoy your pizza!

Classic, no-frills NY slice joint. Try the regular slice. Crust was rather thin and perfectly foldable. Dress it up with oregano and red pepper to taste. Sicilian square slice was just okay - find those elsewhere.

One of NYCs many pizza joints but this is a stand out.. excellent quality and we had get a full pie between 3 of us. Didn’t need an 18” but what’s 2” between friends..? Loving the broccoli and sausage combo..Great work..

Looking for a good New York style pizza, we asked some police in Times square. They pointed us to Sacco's on 54th and 9th and the walk is worth it. We just got a few slices but it was the simple, delicious New York Pizza that I'm used to..

I love this place. We've been here several times. Good for pick up or eat in (seating is limited). They also deliver in the area. The pizza has good turnover so it's always being made fresh and to order. The guys are chill and efficient. They take credit cards and contactless payment. They also use the slice app with a small discount.

Great hole in the wall pizza joint. They only accept cash so come prepared. Order by the slice, you won't be disappointed! Within walking distance from Broadway, so go see a show and then have some pizza afterwards. The slices are big too so you come hungry.

Simply put, the best pizza I've ever eaten. Had a couple slices somewhere else, *before* finding this place, that disappointed. Which made this oh so much more sweeter. We were 5 people and they stretched the dough and made our slices from scratch. Pizza was absolutely heavenly. I would make a special trip to NYC just for this pizza, and may bring daughter, just to have this again.Made a another trip up here even though I was staying all the way on south side of manhattan. Once again the best pizza I'd ever had. Staff working was great. Told the guy I had come all the way from Kentucky for this pizza. And I meant it. I will be visiting here on every trip to NYC.

Extra good pizza! Nice clean restaurant. My friend ordered a slice with veggies and it looked more like a salad than a pizza.

I visited New York for the first time and while walking from central park to Hudson yards ducked into this awesome place. I love the 2 slices and work ethic. The place maintained safe and healthy food service standards. They were not spreading the virus. Today I am healthy and owe it all to them and all the New Yorkers. Food service workers. I visited on March 4.

Decent when it was hot but when it was cold it was horrible it was an 11 min walk from them to the row hotel but other than that prices were great size was great

BY FAR the best pizza in new york- more people need to know about this place. From its extra thin and crispy but soft crust to the perfect tomato sauce to the comfort you get when you walk in a get a whif of the delicious smell. There is no better pizza than this pizza

I literally just pulled up as they were closing (during the corona pandemic 4/26/20)and they had just locked the doors for the night and one of the workers or management gave me a bag with 4 plain slices in it!!! Freaking amazing! I thanked him so much. What a place this us, and what amazing people they have. My favorite slice in the city hands down. Ill always be a loyal customer

Sacco is great pizza and owner is a great guy, he may not know me but he is always nice to his customers whenever I stop in and for this reason as well as his pizza he gets 5 stars.

Very thin and quite delicious crust, as well as a good not to salty and no added sugar tomato sauce. It is definitely a very good NY style pizza slices. It is difficult to filter out the good ones from the loads of very bad pizza slices places. This is definitely one to remember and come back to it. I wish it was closer to home to make it our regular place.

An amazing pizza made to order. It was the only meal in New York that was good value for money. Great host really friendly place.

Truly a terrible experience end to end with Sacco. I ordered a regular pepperoni pizza through Slice, which arrived 90+ minutes later for a location 5 blocks away from the restaurant. The pizza that arrived was not hot, was poor quality, and was delivered 45 minutes after the quoted time. The owner then had the nerve to call me, berate me, and tell me I was “lying about the quality of his pizza”. Yikes. Will never return to this disaster of a pizza place and would strongly advise everyone else avoid it. New York has great pizza, do not waste your time here.

Nice little neighborhood pizza place. Good but not great pizza. I prefer a crisper rather then limper crust. A little under-cooked for me. Toppings are good. Excellent people and service and really easy place to go for a slice.

They really know pizza! Always freshly-made, always good, sold at reasonable prices. They also have refreshing fruit juices for sale. Just order takeaway because their dining area is cramped and lacks proper ventilation. Be patient as there is normally a long wait.

What a great slice of pizza! I tried their *plain* cheese, because I just really wanted to taste the sauce & crust I've been missing so much... toppings are available also. A small dining area with two beverage coolers is behind the oven, where I sat and enjoyed this slice of heaven. It was thin & huge & perfectly greasy. Definitely a highlight of my 3-day trip. This slice of cheese pizza & a 20oz Mountain Dew cost me $4.50. Credit/debit cards are accepted with a $10 minimum purchase. My only regret is that I wasn't able to come back for another slice before my flight home.

Wonderful pizza. I got a grandma slice and it definitely reminded me of how my Nonna used to make it at home. In fact it was a little better (don't tell her that) because the bottom was crispy and the dough was so light and fluffy. The best pizza I had in Manhattan!

This is the best cheese slice and pepperoni slice in Manhattan. The other toppings are nothing special (for example, the mushroom pizza just has canned mushrooms thrown on top) but thankfully you don't need anything like this because the cheese slice is so good on its own.

Solid slice place and nicely priced. there are a few tables in the back to sit in and enjoy your slice. Or just grab n go.
